Research ‘Wonunga’     Again and again one tried to establish fixed and unifying principles for dwellings, although the essence of dwelling seems to be rooted in ongoing change - Harmen van de Wal & Andrea Prins

How do people dwell? Which homes do justice to current ideas and needs of (co)living? We argue that the mercantilization of housing has led to a severe underexposure of these social questions. As a result, the true meaning of 'dwelling' has been obscured. We see this as a system error that requires a paradigm shift.

The research project aims to redefine the meaning of 'dwelling' and investigates whether this approach can offer an alternative to current housing strategies. The first phase entails interviews with thinkers and builders, and research into a constructive way to embed the conversation into the architectural debate.
